Electricity Generating Bicycle

This project outline will be expanded in the future, but this should outline some of the work that was done in the mean time :)

In 2024, I was able to generate sustainable power at home using a bicycle. I was inspired due to a memory of seeing this in a museum when I was younger, as well learning about energy transfer in school. I did research into how this would be possible, and went to work scavenging household materials.

I was able to use a DC motor that I disconnected from an old treadmill, an old car battery to store the charge, a solar charge controller to support using the generated charge for household objects and connecting to the battery, my bike and a standing bicycle stand, a DC → AC charge converter, a stand made of scrap wood to support the motor against the bicycle wheel, and finally bungee cables to create the design.
