Projects

A collection of my favourite projects. Clicking a tile opens up a more detailed explanation.

3B Line Follower Robot

LAH — a fully autonomous search-and-rescue robot that follows a marked course, locates a target with computer vision, and retrieves and delivers it, built across mechanical, electrical, and software design.

Custom Buck Converter Module

A custom KiCad-designed switching regulator PCB stepping an 11.4V LiPo down to a regulated 5V/5A rail, powering a Raspberry Pi 5 and control electronics on an autonomous rescue robot.

High Power PCB

A three-board power electronics system in KiCad driving a 14-winding test coil rig rated for 150A/200V — isolated gate drivers, DC-DC isolation, and a 250V/240A MOSFET stage built to survive 400°C and vibration testing.

Two Axis Machine

An STM32-based two-axis motor control system with ADC potentiometer speed control and interrupt-driven limit switch handling, validated through oscilloscope latency testing.

Conveyor System Retrofit

Rebuilt an unreliable teaching conveyor around a pneumatic diverter subassembly with custom 3D-printed parts and a bespoke Ignition HMI — cutting maintenance time by 95%.

Instrumented Crutch

A crutch retrofitted with load-cell buttons and custom 3D-printed housings, capturing real-time weight distribution for comparison against a 3D digital twin.

Bionic Bulb

A sound-responsive kinetic flower sculpture — a MAX9814 microphone, an Arduino-controlled stepper, and MOSFET-driven LEDs producing real-time interactive motion and lighting.

1A Cornerstone Project

A first-term team build — an EV3 Lego robot programmed in RobotC that paths through a model city, detects an infrared beacon, sprays water, then returns home.

Electricity Generating Bicycle

Sustainable power at home from a bicycle — a treadmill DC motor, a salvaged car battery, a solar charge controller and an inverter, built almost entirely from scavenged materials.
